BROGAN NELSON

My name is Brogan Nelson, and I am a 21 year old student from Toronto, Canada who studies Musical Theatre at The Boston Conservatory. I discovered my love for performing at 9 years old when I sang "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw at my school talent show. I will never forget the feeling of being on that stage, giant cowboy hat and all, and knowing that from that moment on, performing would be a huge part of who I am.

In addition to performing, I also really enjoy working behind the scenes on the creative team. I work as a lighting designer and sound engineer at Boston Conservatory's "Zack Box" Theatre, and I recently got the opportunity to choreograph the 2023 spring semester Mainstage play called @Lys. Working behind the scenes allows me to utilize both the creative and logistical sides of my brain, and further my passion for theatre as a whole.

The theatre is my happy place; it is a place where silliness is embraced, play is encouraged, and connections are shared. It is where I learned how to be myself and express myself boldly without fear. Theatre reminds me that my feet are on the ground, while simultaneously making me feel like I'm floating ten stories in the air. It is my comfort, it is my escape, and it is also my joy. The theatre is my home.
